Iowa State University is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant II (MA) to join the Thielen Student Health Center.
This full-time position offers a set weekday schedule (Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM), so you can enjoy weekends, holidays, and on-call time off. As a Medical Assistant II at the Thielen Student Health Center, youll play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of the Iowa State student community. Youll assist in both clinical and clerical duties to help create a seamless, welcoming experience for patients and contribute to a holistic approach to student health.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of medical records documentation requirements.
Knowledge of medical instruments and supplies.
Knowledge of routine oral, rectal, and injectable medications.
Knowledge and ability to perform CPR and emergency care procedures.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
Ability to maintain a courteous and respectful approach toward patients, visitors, and fellow staff members.
Ability to work safely and willingness to comply with special safety and health precautions including universal precautions.
Ability to provide care with regard to patient condition and age.
Ability to use supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner.
Ability to maintain personal appearance in accordance with dress code.
Ability to be punctual, dependable and flexible (so as to alter work schedule to meet unit/patient needs).
Ability to read and understand instructions and guidelines and to read data indicators.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
